The Clinical Supervisor/Team Leader (TL) for our new SSM Urgent Care Team provides clinical supervision for clinical and support staff. TLs also provide individual supervision, ensure Quality Assurance (QA) standards are met, arranges/schedules/ and provides necessary training, writes performance evaluations and individual development plans, writes reports, acts as a liaison with other teams inside the hospital and PfP, and outside agencies as needed, and gathers and incorporates outcome data and client feedback; writes reports and assists with inpatient admissions and PfP enrollments, as well as track PfP enrollment from Urgent care referrals. General scope of development for direct reports should include clinical documentation monitoring, mentoring, teaching, nurturing, team well-being and identification of any additional supports. This TL will also be expected to collaborate with SSM partners and other community stakeholders. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day and the position will be based at 3635 Vista Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110).

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Clinical Supervision

  • Meet weekly for clinical supervision of direct reports, no less than twice monthly and document accordingly
  • Coordinate with SSM Behavioral Health Urgent Care Manager related to clinical operations, collaboration with SSM system, and quality development and reporting
  • Develop and implement an effective onboarding process for new team members, including orientation support, discussion of organization values/culture, identification of recommended additional training, and plan for development/coaching
  • Monitor training requirements for direct reports and regularly provide feedback and direction based on job responsibilities and desired professional development
  • Select and hire applicants that personify agency culture and align with mission and values
  • Provide documentation signatures for any provisionally licensed staff

Leadership Activities

  • Schedule PfP clinical team to support Urgent Care operations, provide coverage as needed for direct clinical care
  • Review a minimum of 4 service notes per month per staff person to assess quality of notes in regard to medical necessity and compliance with SSM/PfP documentation guidelines
  • Document supervision once per month related to duties identified in job description and support identified training needs
  • Informed by data, monitor team performance with a focus on access, efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability in supervision meetings
  • Monitor clinical and administrative process flows and identifies improvement opportunities utilizing available resources (QI) when necessary and celebrating and sharing success. 
  • Promote and lead service delivery that is recovery-focused, trauma-informed, and culturally intelligent.
  • Support increased enrollment in Places for People services

Communication

  • Effectively and continually communicate information to direct reports to promote clarity and efficacy in clinical service
  • Support and model the agency’s efforts to promote a culture of health, wellbeing, inclusion, camaraderie, compassion, and appreciation of our collective work
  • Promote coordination of care to direct reports where we work across teams, disciplines, departments, and other providers so that the organization can most effectively address the treatment needs of those we serve and who take advantage of our collective wisdom
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor
